Testimonials

It is said that recommendation is the surest way of guaranteeing quality and although CCCR has only been trading for a relatively short length of time its nice to see our feed back means we are getting things right. But we are always looking to improve and always review our projects once complete to see if we could have planned or executed in a better way, we also review our suppliers performance and the products used to ensure best prices and the highest quality of finish.

Triumph TR4 - Spring 2017

I recently became the custodian of a TR4, an older restoration, with limited history, and few miles on the clock in the last 10 years. After driving it for 500miles, all seemed well apart from poor cold starting, a very lumpy tickover, and a general air of over rich mixture. I approached CCCR for their advice, wondering how we would be received alongside the Aston Martins, Jaguars, Bentley, and other exotica………

I need not have worried. Jonathan recommended a general engine service, and re-setting the Weber carbs on a rolling road, which was duly carried out by his team. On collecting the car, he insisted that I took it for a test drive. The transformation was obvious immediately, the tick over was smooth, the uptake crisp and responsive, and the torque from good to remarkably good! This was coupled with some friendly advice on the best way to start Webers from cold, no choke, switch on the ignition, pump the accelerator 4 or 5 times, and then fire up the starter.

I came away feeling that both car and driver had been treated with the same professional attention to detail that the other more exotic customers have gratefully received, all delivered in a knowledgable, friendly and courteous manner.

As with many things in life, it pays to go to the best.

Maserati Khamsin - Winter 2015/2016

Having had my Maserati Khamsin for 10 years, covering 27,000 miles and travelling in 11 countries around Europe, the time came for me to sort out a few of the areas where the bodywork needed repair.  This was generally small areas of rust around the wheel arches, most often at the back of each wheel arch.

I had heard good things about Cotswold Classic Car Restoration (CCCR) as a company and particularly Jonathan Wills.  I took the car to him to review and he confirmed that there were some repairs that were needed.  He gave me a reference who was someone who had had several cars restored by CCCR.  The other customer was very welcoming: I went to his house and saw his cars, which were all excellent.  I then delivered my Maserati to CCCR.

The task on my car was delicate: I wanted to preserve as much as possible of the originality.  I did not want a full scale restoration.  Jonathan and I reviewed the areas of the car and CCCR got started.  I was able to review the progress each week and discuss the work that was being carried out.  We had to be sure that we had removed the rust completely, so each time a section was removed, a new repair section was made to match exactly.  This was then welded in, smoothed and leaded so that it lasts for a very long time.

When it came to paint, Jonathan and I tried several different paints and none were a close enough match.  Then Jonathan brought in a paint matcher to match the original colour exactly.  I then signed it off and the paint was sprayed on.  The biggest surprise was the amount of effort that goes into the polishing and putting everything back onto the car so that it looks as if it has never been any different.  Jonathan has a great eye for detail and this helped a lot.

I am pleased that I had the work done and that it was done by CCCR.  Jonathan has a keen eye for detail and he wants his customers to be satisfied.  I am.

Mazda Elford Turbo - bumper and rear wheel arch respray Autumn 2016

"I would like to pass on my grateful thanks to all, of you at CCCR for the superb work you carried out on my Mazda RX7. In particular to Matt for the care he showed in getting the work, completed and going above and beyond what had been asked. It really is a first class job.
You have proved that big or small every job gets the same dedicated care, backed up by a friendly professional approach. Will be back next year to ensure the underside of the car is maintained."

BMW 3.0i bare metal respray - Summer 2016

"Cotswold Classic Car Restorations carried out a bare metal respray on my 1972 BMW 3.0Si in 2016. I didn’t want a full restoration, as the car is in remarkable condition for its age and I didn’t want to lose the patina. I was really impressed by Jonathon’s understanding of what I wanted (and didn’t want) and why. He delivered exactly what he promised. The finish is impeccable, as is the attention to detail. The paint is as good as any of the exotics in the workshop. I told the team that they had given my BMW an Aston Martin paint job. Suffice to say, I enjoyed the experience so much I’m already thinking about the next project!"

CCCR helped put this GT back on the track.

"A month down the line and I feel sincere thanks are due to Jonathan and the CCCR team for the fine job they have done injecting life back into my rather neglected car and its owner also. The work was completed within budget and estimated time - pretty unusual these days.

Nothing was too much of a problem and I was particularly impressed by the rapid response to a small fueling issue which arose when I returned home. The puzzle was sorted within a couple of days by a home visit from CCCR and at absolutely no cost to myself.

There is a great atmosphere of hard work, friendliness and enthusiasm at CCCR. It's a special place and I never felt my occasional presence in the workshop was a nuisance or, if it was, then it was covered up extremely well!"

The car is magnificent and I am very pleased to have added a 5 speed gearbox and power steering fitted by yourself.
Nothing was too much trouble and that in itself is what makes it such a pleasure to deal with you and your team.
You deserve outstanding success."

Mini Cooper 1996

Thank you Jonathan for all your hard work and dedication restoring my wife's Mini Cooper. As you know the Mini has really become part of the family and we had spent plenty of money on it with another 'Mini specialist' who frankly did an awful job which just looked good for 12 months. I do appreciate the time you put in to keep us informed throughout the restoration to allow us to make decisions about how far to go with the work. We both love the finished article and although probably better in many ways than when it rolled out of the factory 'Paddington' (my wife's name for the Mini) rarely goes out in the rain. We do get lots of comments from people about how great the car looks which is testament to the quality of the work you and your team put in.
